The Raspy Dispatcher was dreamed up between 911 calls at the very beginning of my career. After earning a degree in criminal justice and completing a 24-month training program, I knew two things: first, the world needs more dispatchers—and second, we need better education around the job and the application process.
What began as a YouTube channel has grown into a full-fledged LLC.
Today, The Raspy Dispatcher is dedicated to educating the public about the vital role of 911 dispatchers, guiding aspiring dispatchers through the hiring process, and empowering those already in the field with resources, support, and community.
Did you know that some 911 centers are reporting vacancy rates as high as 70%?
Why does this matter?
911 centers facing staff shortages are pushing their current dispatchers into mandatory overtime, leading to burnout. Not only are the dispatchers being overworked, but citizens are also left waiting longer for someone to respond to their emergency calls. We need more dispatchers, are you ready to answer the call?
